Founded in 1987, we focus on providing customized options for the unique needs of our customers. 
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Automotive Body Technician & Plastics Fabricator - Bumpers is a key team member that will be responsible for removing, modifying, and reinstalling the rear bumper on the wheelchair-accessible vehicle conversions we produce maintaining the high-standards of quality and safety.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Remove rear bumper and additional pieces including lower interior trim, automotive seats and carpeting as needed.
  • Cut and reform rear bumper capping the cut edges using hand tools according to verbal and/or written instructions while adhering to all Freedom Motors policies and procedures under minimal supervision.  
  • Install modified bumper using laser level and maintaining an eye for detail.
  • Perform inspection prior to Quality Assurance.
  • Perform trouble-shooting of equipment as needed.
  • Use hand including, but not limited to, impact drivers, hand drills, band saw, etc. 
  • Maintain compliance with Freedom Motors quality and safety standards, policies and procedures, and OSHA safety regulations and follow both written and verbal work instructions.
  • Assist other areas as needed

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
  • Coursework beyond High School Diploma preferred.
  • Previous experience with automotive body work and repair, plastic fabrication, carpentry or finishing preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to use hand-tools including, but not limited to, grinder, body saw, impact drivers, hand drills, etc.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to maintain a professional and positive attitude at all times.
  • Outstanding attendance record and reliability.

TECHNICAL ABILITIES:
  • Ability to climb, kneel, bend, stoop, crouch, squat, twist, crawl, or stand or prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to carry and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Tolerance for overhead work and working in confined spaces.
  • Ability to read small print, hear sounds associated with mechanical deficiencies and use repetitive motions.
  • Tolerance for working in noisy environments and confined spaces with exposure to dust, fumes, hot and cold weather.
