Job description

Brady Engraving Solutions is seeking a talented, motivated, and passionate Firmware Engineer to join our team! In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain high-performance embedded systems for our next-generation laser marking and engraving product lines. This position focuses on full-stack embedded development for integrated system controllers, which combine smart scan control, interface hardware, and real-time processing. You will own low-level CPU firmware execution, custom Embedded Linux system development, and driver integration. This is an onsite role based in our Acton, MA or Cranberry Township, PA office.
  • Design, develop, and test real-time firmware for network-ready CPU platforms and controller boards using C and C++.
  • Build, customize, and maintain embedded Linux kernels, custom device drivers, and system-level software to interface with Ethernet-based smart hardware.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineering teams to bring up prototype boards and integrate network communication protocols, including EtherNet/IP, Profinet, and Industry 4.0 IoT standards.
  • Support and expand the firmware backing the API to allow seamless remote equipment control and automation.
  • Contribute actively to core firmware architecture, hardware-software partitioning, and object-oriented software design decisions.
