Upper GI endoscopy: Required with biopsy
Colonoscopy: Required with biopsy
Description:
Shift time is from 8 AM to 5 PM with an unpaid hour for lunch.
Upper endoscopy typically takes 30 minutes.
Colonoscopy typically takes 30 minutes.
Combined procedures take approximately 60 minutes.
Most procedures performed with moderate sedation.
Fellowship training required in Gastroenterology.
Patient encounters per shift are to be determined.
No specific trauma level is required for this facility.
Certain specialty skills are preferred, including esophageal dilatation/manometry and esophageal manometry interpretation.
Specific procedures required include small bowel biopsy, lower GI endoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, and colonoscopy with biopsy and polyp excision.
Other therapeutic procedures are not required or preferred.
