Job description

Job Title: Control Design Engineer
Charlotte, NC

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Control Design Engineer to design and develop control cabinets, monitoring, and protection systems for power transformers. The role requires strong expertise in device integration, communication systems, and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop transformer control cabinets and associated systems.
  • Integrate monitoring, protection, and communication devices (DNP3, Modbus, IEC 61850).
  • Perform electrical design calculations for losses, impedances, and performance optimization.
  • Ensure compliance with IEEE, IEC, and ANSI standards.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, sales, and testing teams.
  • Support troubleshooting, customization, and customer-specific requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 6–10 years of experience in control cabinet and transformer design.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, ETAP, and related tools.
  • Strong knowledge of protection systems, communication protocols, and monitoring devices.
