Digital Print Operator

Houston, TX 77014 | Full-time | In person

Allegra is seeking a hands-on Digital Print Operator who can consistently deliver accurate, high-quality work. This is a production position with elements of customer service. You will run digital presses daily, manage paper and supplies, operate finishing equipment, monitor output quality, perform routine equipment care, and speak directly with customers when they call or walk into the office. Candidates should bring strong equipment-operation skills, sound judgment, understanding of customer service and a dependable production mindset.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Produce high-quality print and promotional projects.

• Perform daily setup, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of printing and finishing equipment.

• Review job tickets and production specifications before running each job.

• Set paper stocks, trays, media, and machine settings; run test sheets and verify output quality.

• Operate cutters, folders, binders, laminators, and other finishing equipment as assigned.

• Monitor registration, color consistency, image quality, and finishing accuracy throughout production runs.

• Collaborate with management and the customer service team to meet deadlines and resolve production issues.

• Maintain clean, organized, and safe working areas.

• Greet customers as they walk in or call.

MUST-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally.

• Hands-on experience operating commercial digital printing and finishing equipment.

• Ability to read and follow job tickets, equipment instructions, and production specifications.

• Strong understanding of print production fundamentals, including paper stocks, machine setup, registration, finishing, and quality control.

• Basic computer skills and the ability to learn workflow and job-tracking software.

• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks, including lifting paper and supplies, typically up to 40–50 pounds.

• Proven ability to manage multiple jobs, prioritize under deadlines, and maintain consistent quality.

• Reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.

STRONGLY PREFERRED

• Prior experience in a print shop or quick-print environment, such as Allegra, FedEx Office, or a similar operation.

• Familiarity with digital press platforms such as Xerox, HP, Konica Minolta, or Ricoh.

• Experience with basic finishing equipment or large-format printing.

• Experience with production workflow systems and job-tracking software.
