Large Animal Surgery Clinician

Job Description:
Job Summary
The primary responsibility of this position is to support the emergency service within Purdue University's Equine and Farm Animal Hospitals, providing advanced medical and surgical care for a diverse range of large animal species, including horses, cattle, swine, sheep, goats, camelids, and select exotics. As part of Purdue's commitment to excellence in veterinary medicine, teaching, and service, you will provide both direct support for daytime and after-hours emergencies and guidance to interns and residents managing emergency cases, while helping shape the next generation of veterinary professionals through clinical mentoring and student instruction.
Working alongside faculty, house officers, and fellow clinicians, you will play a critical role in managing surgical and medical emergencies in a collaborative, team-focused environment dedicated to exceptional patient care and outstanding client service. You will also oversee DVM and Veterinary Nursing students participating in emergency rotations, creating meaningful learning experiences that support Purdue's mission of education, discovery, and impact. Opportunities to participate in daytime surgery or medicine services may be available, though emergency service remains the primary focus of the role.
This is a 100% clinical appointment for a veterinarian who has successfully completed a residency in either Large Animal Surgery or
Large Animal Medicine. Dedicated off-clinic time will be provided to support board certification activities when applicable, allowing you to continue growing professionally while contributing to a nationally recognized veterinary teaching hospital. This one-year appointment offers the opportunity for annual renewal based on performance and hospital needs and includes comprehensive benefits.
