Job description

Children & Adolescent Mental Health Therapist, Outpatient

HealthCare Recruiters International (HCRI) is seeking a Licensed or Pre-Licensed Mental Health Therapist (LAPC, LMSW, LAMFT) to join a beautiful, newly built outpatient behavioral health clinic serving children, adolescents, and families in Sioux City, Iowa.

This role offers a supportive team environment, paid supervision toward licensure, and a manageable caseload focused primarily on children and adolescents. Therapists provide trauma-informed care for low to mild acuity mental health diagnoses while working alongside an established team of collaborative clinicians.

Children & Adolescent Therapist Schedule

  • 37.5 hours per week
  • Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM or four 9-hour shifts
  • Approximately 4–5 client sessions per day
  • Three-week ramp-up period to full caseload at full compensation

Children & Adolescent Therapist Responsibilities

  • Provide individual therapy primarily to children and adolescents
  • Option to see adult clients on caseload, if desired
  • Deliver trauma-informed care for low-mild acuity mental health diagnoses
  • Support families through counseling and psychoeducation
  • Facilitate group therapy, parenting education, or support sessions as needed
  • Maintain timely clinical documentation and treatment records
  • Collaborate with a team of established therapists for consultation and support

Children & Adolescent Therapist Requirements

  • Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy
  • Licensed or license-eligible in Iowa (LAPC, LMSW, LAMFT, LPC, LCSW, LMFT)
  • Passion for working with children, adolescents, and families
  • Trauma-informed care approach preferred
  • EMDR, PCIT, or CBT training is a plus

Outpatient Therapist Compensation

  • Pre-licensed (LAPC, LMSW, LAMFT): $60K to $75K
  • Fully licensed (LPC, LCSW, LMFT): $70K to $80K
  • $10,000 sign-on bonus and HRSA loan forgiveness eligible site
  • 4 weeks PTO, 13 paid holidays, 10 sick days
