Join Our Team: Speech Language Pathologist Assistant

Position Overview:

Under the supervision of a credentialed Speech Language Pathologist, you will assist in delivering therapy and support services designed to improve pre-language and language skills, oral motor control, vocalization, and communication through assistive technology. You will work closely with students who have speech, language, and other disabilities, helping to make a meaningful difference in their educational journeys.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with client screenings and assessments related to language, voice, fluency, articulation, and hearing
  • Implement treatment plans as directed by the Speech Language Pathologist
  • Support the development and remediation of speech and language skills
  • Collect, document, and enter student progress and performance data into databases
  • Maintain and troubleshoot assistive technology and therapy equipment
  • Prepare instructional materials and visual aids to support therapy goals
  • Assist with scheduling, recordkeeping, and other support duties
  • Participate in speech-language research projects and related activities as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, or completion of an SLPA program
  • Current registration as a Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) with the California Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Board
  • Prior SLPA experience in educational or clinical settings preferred
  • Knowledge of speech and language pathology procedures, equipment, and developmental milestones
  • Familiarity with AAC devices and assistive technology
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse students, families, and staff
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Proficiency with computers, iPads, and standard software applications

Compensation & Schedule:

  • Hourly Rate: $38.04
  • Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 am โ€“ 4:00 pm
  • Work Calendar: August to June (10-month school year)
