Legal 1031 Exchange Services LLC is a successful and growing company specializing in
Qualified Intermediary services for IRC §1031 tax-deferred (like-kind) exchanges. We serve
as an independent third party in real estate transactions, structuring exchanges to qualify for
tax deferral and acting as the escrow agent for exchange proceeds.
We are currently seeking a Paralegal / Exchange Coordinator to join our in-house legal
team at our Woodbury, Long Island location. This is an excellent opportunity for a paralegal
with commercial real estate transactional experience who is looking to grow professionally in
a highly specialized area of real estate and tax law. We foster a collaborative, collegial, and
supportive work environment and value continuous learning and professional development.
In this role, you will gain in-depth knowledge of IRC §1031 exchanges-an invaluable skill
set for professionals pursuing careers in real estate, tax, or financial services
Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Legal 1031 team in administering a variety of exchange transactions
  • Assist in-house counsel with reviewing and editing correspondence, company forms, and marketing materials
  • Upon training, work closely with the team on complex transactions, including reverse and improvement exchanges
  • Develop a strong working knowledge of §1031 exchange rules to support attorneys and other professionals
  • Prepare exchange documentation and coordinate with clients and their professional advisors
  • Organize and manage transaction pipelines, track critical deadlines, and ensure timely follow-up
  • Maintain client files, account statements, and provide administrative and transactional support
  • Collect, analyze, and verify transactional documents and related information

Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook, particularly Word and Excel
  • Professional demeanor with strong client service and interpersonal skills
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to manage multiple transactions and deadlines
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information
  • Excellent organizational, time management, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Prior experience in real estate transactions, escrow, title, tax, accounting, or financial services is strongly preferred

Experience:
  • Real Estate: 2 year (Preferred)
  • Paralegal: 3 year (Required)

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree (Preferred)
  • Paralegal Certificate (Preferred)
