What is a Langchain developer?

A Langchain Developer specializes in building applications using LangChain, a framework for developing AI-driven applications that leverage large language models (LLMs). Their role involves integrating LLMs with data sources, optimizing prompt engineering, and designing workflows for chatbots, automation, and knowledge retrieval. They often work with Python, APIs, and vector databases to enhance AI capabilities. The job requires expertise in natural language processing (NLP), machine learning, and cloud services.

What are some typical challenges faced by Langchain developers and how do teams address them?

Langchain Developers often encounter challenges such as integrating new language models, ensuring data privacy, and maintaining prompt accuracy in dynamic real-world scenarios. Teams commonly address these difficulties by collaborating closely with data scientists, regularly updating their knowledge of evolving AI frameworks, and implementing robust testing protocols to ensure quality results. Continuous learning and knowledge-sharing within the team are encouraged so developers can quickly adapt to changes in technology or requirements. Additionally, cross-functional meetings and code reviews are held to align development with organizational goals and best practices. These efforts help ensure that projects remain innovative and effective while minimizing potential roadblocks.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Langchain developer?

To thrive as a Langchain Developer, you need strong programming skills in Python, experience with large language models (LLMs), and a solid understanding of conversational AI workflow. Familiarity with tools and platforms such as LangChain, vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, FAISS), cloud services, and API integrations is commonly required. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills help you adapt to fast-paced AI projects and work effectively with cross-functional teams. These competencies are essential for designing, implementing, and optimizing advanced AI-powered applications that deliver real business value.

Job description

AI BUILD ENGINEER MANAGER
Versigent designs and delivers the systems that move power through modern technology. From vehicles to robotics to energy platforms, our electrical distribution systems enable the next generation of electrified, automated and connected products.
As a standalone company, we combine deep engineering expertise with the speed and focus needed to solve increasingly complex challenges. Our teams move quickly, think with precision and deliver at scale - helping customers do more without adding cost, weight or complexity.
What defines us is how we work: with the agility and momentum of a startup, backed by the experience and discipline of a proven global leader. That combination creates an environment where ideas move faster, ownership is real and impact is visible.
YOUR ROLE
The AI Build Engineer is a high impact technical leader within the Enterprise Architecture (EA) team, operating at the intersection of strategic vision and hands on engineering. Serving as the execution layer of Enterprise Architecture's AI strategy, this role transforms conceptual patterns into validated, repeatable implementation blueprints.
You are a hybrid architect developer who excels at translating complex AI concepts-such as Agentic workflows, orchestration patterns, and RAG architectures-into "Golden Path" reference implementations that enable product teams to build with speed, security, and consistency. Your mission is to accelerate the organization's AI capabilities by creating reusable codebases, containerized patterns, and enterprise-ready engineering standards that guide how AI solutions are designed and scaled.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Rapid Prototyping & "Architecture as Code"
  • Engineering Scalable Reference Implementations
  • AI Security & Defensive Engineering
  • Containerization & Cloud Orchestration
  • Technical Governance & Tool Evaluation

QUALIFICATIONS
Core
  • Programming: Mastery of Python (FastAPI, LangChain, LlamaIndex); ability to build lightweight UIs using Streamlit or React for demos
  • AI/ML: Strong hands-on experience integrating LLMs, building RAG pipelines, and working with vector indexing (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, Azure AI Search)
  • Cloud & Infrastructure: Deep proficiency in Azure and/or AWS AI services, serverless inference, and managed Kubernetes platforms.
  • Containers: Expert-level skills in Docker, Helm, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps) for AI workloads.
  • Ability to work onsite in Troy, MI
  • Must be legally able to work in the United States without requirement of any type of visa sponsorship or transfer now, or at any time in the future

Preferred
  • Experience with LLM Ops frameworks: model evaluation (Ragas, Arize Phoenix), monitoring, versioning, and drift analysis
  • Hands on exposure to model fine tuning techniques (LoRA / QLoRA) and domain specialization.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Architecture frameworks (TOGAF or similar).

WHY JOIN US?
  • Grow with purpose. We invest in our people by creating opportunities to build skills, take on new challenges, and develop over time.
  • Do work that shows up in the real world. What you contribute here powers systems that are critical to how industries operate and evolve. The impact is visible and lasting.
  • Succeed with the right support. We provide the tools, resources, and environment needed to perform at a high level and sustain that success.
