What is a Langchain developer?

A Langchain Developer specializes in building applications using LangChain, a framework for developing AI-driven applications that leverage large language models (LLMs). Their role involves integrating LLMs with data sources, optimizing prompt engineering, and designing workflows for chatbots, automation, and knowledge retrieval. They often work with Python, APIs, and vector databases to enhance AI capabilities. The job requires expertise in natural language processing (NLP), machine learning, and cloud services.

What are some typical challenges faced by Langchain developers and how do teams address them?

Langchain Developers often encounter challenges such as integrating new language models, ensuring data privacy, and maintaining prompt accuracy in dynamic real-world scenarios. Teams commonly address these difficulties by collaborating closely with data scientists, regularly updating their knowledge of evolving AI frameworks, and implementing robust testing protocols to ensure quality results. Continuous learning and knowledge-sharing within the team are encouraged so developers can quickly adapt to changes in technology or requirements. Additionally, cross-functional meetings and code reviews are held to align development with organizational goals and best practices. These efforts help ensure that projects remain innovative and effective while minimizing potential roadblocks.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Langchain developer?

To thrive as a Langchain Developer, you need strong programming skills in Python, experience with large language models (LLMs), and a solid understanding of conversational AI workflow. Familiarity with tools and platforms such as LangChain, vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, FAISS), cloud services, and API integrations is commonly required. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills help you adapt to fast-paced AI projects and work effectively with cross-functional teams. These competencies are essential for designing, implementing, and optimizing advanced AI-powered applications that deliver real business value.

Job description

Overview:
About R2 Technologies: R2 Technologies is a Certified Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) headquartered in Alpharetta, GA. With over two decades of experience across global markets, we provide IT staffing and digital product engineering services to clients ranging from startups to Fortune 1000 companies. In addition to talent services, R2 develops proprietary solutions including SmartEnt, an enterprise AI and IoT intelligence platform. We work closely with our clients to deliver technology outcomes that are realistic, measurable, and impactful.
Job Summary: Enterprise AI is being built on top of the Java systems that already run the business, not beside them. R2 Technologies is seeking a Java Developer with Agentic AI experience to design and deploy AI-driven applications within Spring Boot and microservices environments. You will build backend services that integrate Large Language Models, implement AI agents capable of reasoning and tool calling, and connect those capabilities to existing enterprise data and business logic across banking, healthcare, and retail client engagements.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop scalable, secure backend services using Java 11/17, Spring Boot, Spring Security, and microservices architecture.
  • Build and integrate Agentic AI applications powered by Large Language Models using Spring AI, LangChain4j, or equivalent frameworks.
  • Develop AI agents capable of reasoning, planning, tool/function calling, and multi-step task execution against enterprise systems.
  • Implement RAG solutions using vector databases and enterprise data sources to ground AI responses in business context.
  • Develop RESTful APIs and event-driven services that expose AI capabilities to downstream applications.
  • Implement automated testing, monitoring, logging, and performance optimization for AI-enabled services deployed on AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Qualifications:
  • 3 years of experience in Java/J2EE development with hands-on AI or LLM integration work.
  • Strong expertise in Java 11/17, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, and microservices.
  • Hands-on experience with agentic frameworks such as Spring AI, LangChain, LangGraph, LangChain4j, or CrewAI.
  • Experience integrating LLMs including Anthropic Claude, OpenAI GPT, Google Gemini, or Llama into production applications.
  • Proven experience building RESTful APIs, event-driven architectures, and distributed systems.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, with working experience in Docker and Kubernetes.

Skills:
Java, Spring Boot, Agentic AI, LLM Integration, Microservices, REST APIs, Spring AI, RAG
