Job description

Bus LotAttendant(part-time) in Silver Spring, Maryland serving Montgomery County Bus Lanes
Transdev is proud to offer:
  • Competitive compensation package of minimum $16.00 - maximum $20.00

  • Vacation: minimum of two (2) weeks
  • Sick days: 5 days
  • Holidays: 12 days; 8 standard and 4 floating

  • M-F 4am - 1pm shift
  • Variable shifts available as well. M-Sun 7pm-3am

Key Responsibilities:
This Transdev location seeks Service Lane Technicians to perform vehicle inspections, installations, and minor repairs for a fleet of over 270 CNG transit buses for Montgomery County's Ride On bus service. The job duties include:
  • Performs tire inspections and minor repairs on buses and support vehicles
  • Maintains records of tire inventory, recaps, scraps, and other logs as needed to ensure a ready supply of tires
  • Observes facility safety practices relating to tire installation, use of personal safety devices and wheel dollies, chemicals, and tire filters, and follows environmental practices regarding proper handling and disposal of all waste streams
  • This position requires working outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
  • Spotting Buses to Park in Parking lot

Qualifications:
  • Vocational training in automotive repair helpful
  • Valid driver's license
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays
  • Previous service lane technician experience preferred
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
  • Subject to DOT drug testing. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason.

Physical Requirements:
  • The essential functions of this position require the ability to:
  • Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions-100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations.
  • Sit for extended periods (up to 6-8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces
  • Push and pull objects, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level
  • Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
