Job description

We are looking for a reliable and experienced Landscape Crew Leader to join our team. This position is responsible for overseeing daily landscape maintenance tasks and guiding crew members to ensure quality work, safety compliance, and timely project completion. The Lead will work under the direction of the Supervisor and may be assigned to commercial properties, HOAs, parks, and municipal sites.

This position requires working in various terrains and challenging site conditions.
 

Key Responsibilities:

· Supervise and lead a crew of landscape workers during daily operations

· Assign and monitor tasks to ensure productivity and quality standards are met

· Perform hands-on landscaping tasks including mowing, edging, trimming, pruning, weeding, mulching, aerating, and blowing

· Guide planting, installation of sod, and proper care for flowers, shrubs, and trees

· Oversee clean-up and maintenance of job sites

· Assist with minor irrigation repairs and erosion control

· Ensure all crew members use tools and equipment properly and safely

· Conduct daily vehicle and equipment inspections

· Communicate effectively with supervisors and report job progress, delays, or issues

· Lead by example in professionalism, punctuality, and safety

Required Skills & Knowledge:

· Proven experience in landscaping or grounds maintenance

· Basic understanding of horticulture, softscape

· Ability to operate and train others on the safe use of landscape equipment (mowers, trimmers, blowers, aerators, etc.)

· Experience with minor irrigation troubleshooting and repairs is a plus

· Ability to read and follow work orders, site maps, or verbal instructions

· Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and support a crew

· Commitment to safety procedures including use of PPE and traffic control

Work Environment & Expectations:

· Outdoor work in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.)

· Physically demanding role that includes bending, lifting, digging, kneeling, and long hours on your feet

· Must be willing to work on sloped areas, new developments, retrofit landscapes, and residential homes

· Required to act as a representative of the company in public settings and maintain professional conduct

· Must be punctual, respectful, and a good communicator.

· Ability to safely lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
 

Qualifications:

· Previous experience as a Landscape Crew Member or similar role (Required)

· Experience leading a crew or training other team members is highly preferred

· Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record (Required)

· Reliable transportation to and from the yard or assigned job sites

· Bilingual in Spanish/English is a plus

· Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening if required
