Job description

Barks Road Landscape Architecture is looking for a dedicated, detail-oriented Landscape Maintenance Supervisor to lead our field operations in Arnold, MD.

If you have a sharp eye for horticulture, a clean driving record, and the leadership skills to manage multiple crews, we want to hear from you.

The Role

As our Maintenance Supervisor, you will oversee 3โ€“4 crews, ensuring every property meets our rigorous standards for aesthetic excellence and plant vitality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Crew Leadership: Direct and mentor 3โ€“4 maintenance crews; manage daily schedules and quality control.

  • Horticultural Mastery: Execute and oversee proper pruning techniques, seasonal plantings, and turf health.

  • Client Interface: Act as the primary point of contact for clients on-site, providing professional updates and addressing concerns with a "can-do" attitude.

  • Technical Oversight: Manage and troubleshoot irrigation systems and ensure proper equipment handling.

  • Safety & Logistics: Maintain a safe workspace and ensure all vehicles and tools are accounted for and maintained.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Experience: Proven background in professional landscape maintenance and crew supervision.

  • Horticulture Knowledge: Deep understanding of plant ID, growth habits, and proper pruning techniques (we donโ€™t do "meatball" shrubs).

  • Irrigation Savvy: Hands-on experience with irrigation startup, repair, and seasonal adjustments.

  • Communication: Fluency in English is a must for clear client communication and reporting.

  • Clean Record: A valid driverโ€™s license and a good driving record is required.

  • Grit: Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lead by example.
