What does a landscaping apprentice do?

A Landscaping Apprentice assists experienced landscapers in creating, maintaining, and renovating outdoor spaces such as gardens, parks, and commercial grounds. Their tasks typically include planting trees and shrubs, laying sod, installing irrigation systems, and operating landscaping equipment under supervision. Apprentices learn about plant care, soil preparation, landscape design, and safety practices while gaining hands-on experience. This role provides foundational training for a career in landscaping and can lead to more advanced positions after completion of the apprenticeship.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a landscaping apprentice?

To thrive as a Landscaping Apprentice, you need basic knowledge of horticulture, physical fitness, and a willingness to learn, often supported by a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with landscaping tools, power equipment, and safety certifications like OSHA training are typically required. Reliability, teamwork, and strong communication skills help apprentices stand out in this hands-on environment. These abilities are crucial for performing tasks safely, collaborating with crew members, and developing expertise for career advancement in landscaping.

What are typical responsibilities and learning opportunities for a landscaping apprentice during their first year?

As a Landscaping Apprentice, your first year typically involves hands-on tasks such as planting, mulching, lawn care, operating basic landscaping equipment, and assisting with hardscape installations under the supervision of experienced landscapers. About the Role

Are you looking to jumpstart a career in a skilled trade that offers long-term stability and growth? We are seeking a motivated, hardworking HVAC Apprentice to join our team.

In this role, you won't just be "helping out"—you will be the frontline for our Preventative Maintenance (PM) and Indoor Air Quality services. You’ll work closely with experienced technicians to learn the ins and outs of heating and cooling systems while ensuring our customers' homes stay comfortable and efficient.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Preventative Maintenance (PMs): Perform routine tune-ups on residential and commercial HVAC units, including cleaning coils, checking refrigerant levels, and testing safety controls.

  • Duct Cleaning & Sanitation: Operate specialized vacuum and brush equipment to remove debris from ductwork and improve indoor air quality.

  • Filter & Component Replacement: Identify and replace worn belts, filters, and other consumables.

  • Assistant Support: Assist lead technicians with complex repairs, system installations, and heavy lifting.

  • Customer Service: Maintain a professional appearance and clearly communicate with homeowners about the work being performed.

What We’re Looking For
  • Mechanically Inclined: You enjoy working with your hands and figuring out how things work.

  • Physically Capable: Able to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces (attics/crawlspaces).

  • Reliable & Punctual: You show up on time, ready to work, with a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

  • Willing to Learn: A positive attitude and a desire to eventually earn your NATE or EPA certifications.

Bonus Points (Not Required)
  • Basic knowledge of electrical or plumbing systems.

  • Prior experience in a labor-intensive field (construction, landscaping, etc.).

Why Join Us?
  • Competitive Starting Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour.

  • Career Path: We provide the training to move toward your Journeyman license.

  • Benefits: Health insurance / 401k / Paid Time Off / Seasonal Bonuses / Holiday Pay / On-Call Pay

  • Tools & Gear: Company uniforms provided
