Job description

Position Summary
The Maintenance Landscaper is responsible for maintaining the beauty, cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of the Stagecoach Inn's exterior grounds while assisting with general property maintenance. This role plays a vital part in creating an exceptional first impression for guests by ensuring the historic property is clean, well-maintained, and inviting at all times.
The ideal candidate enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in their work, and is willing to assist with maintenance projects throughout the property as operational needs require.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Landscaping & Grounds
  • Maintain lawns, flower beds, shrubs, trees, and landscaped areas throughout the property.
  • Mow, edge, trim, weed, mulch, rake, and water landscaping as needed.
  • Plant seasonal flowers, shrubs, and other landscape enhancements.
  • Prune trees and bushes while removing dead or damaged vegetation.
  • Monitor irrigation systems and report or repair minor issues.
  • Keep sidewalks, patios, parking lots, entrances, and outdoor guest areas clean and free of debris.
  • Remove leaves, branches, trash, and other hazards from the property.
  • Power wash sidewalks, patios, outdoor furniture, and building exteriors as needed.
  • Maintain outdoor lighting, planters, signage, and decorative features.
  • Ensure all exterior areas present a welcoming appearance for guests.
General Maintenance
  • Assist with preventive maintenance throughout the hotel and restaurant.
  • Complete basic repairs including painting, drywall touch-ups, minor plumbing, carpentry, furniture repairs, and fixture replacement.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from hotel and restaurant departments.
  • Assist with event setup, furniture movement, and seasonal decorating.
  • Safely operate and maintain landscaping and maintenance equipment.
  • Report maintenance concerns that require specialized repairs.
  • Keep maintenance shops, storage areas, and equipment organized and clean.
Safety & Guest Service
  • Follow all safety policies and OSHA guidelines.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Immediately report unsafe conditions or hazards.
  • Interact professionally and courteously with guests, vendors, and team members.
  • Support other departments as needed to ensure exceptional guest experiences.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • One (1) year of landscaping, groundskeeping, maintenance, or related experience preferred.
  • Hotel, resort, or hospitality experience is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of landscaping equipment and maintenance tools.
  • Ability to safely operate mowers, trimmers, blowers, power washers, and other equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
  • Valid Texas driver's license preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, reach, and work outdoors for extended periods.
  • Work in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and humidity.
  • Safely operate powered landscaping and maintenance equipment.
Schedule
  • Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts based on business needs.
  • Occasional overtime may be required.
