This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company's locations: Driftwood Golf and Ranch Club, set outside of Austin, TX.
Driftwood Golf and Ranch Club is seeking a Head Landscape Mechanic to join the Landscape Department.
The Head Landscape Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of all the landscaping equipment and machinery. This role ensures that all tools and machines operate efficiently and safely to support the landscaping team in delivering high-quality groundskeeping and landscape management services. In this role, you will be part of creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members and fellow employees.

Key Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance: Regularly inspect, maintain, and repair landscaping equipment including mowers, trimmers, blowers, chainsaws, and other power tools.
Diagnostic and Repair Work: Diagnose mechanical issues and perform necessary repairs to ensure minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
Preventative Maintenance: Conduct routine preventative maintenance to prolong equipment lifespan and prevent unexpected breakdowns.
Inventory Management: Monitor and manage parts inventory, order replacement parts as necessary, and ensure that all tools and machinery are properly stocked and ready for use.
Record keeping: Maintain detailed records of all maintenance and repair activities, including dates, parts used, and any other relevant information.
Safety Compliance: Ensure all maintenance and repair work complies with safety standards and regulations.
Support: Provide technical support and training to landscaping team members on the proper use and care of equipment.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Three (3) or more years of experience in equipment maintenance and repair, preferably in a landscaping or similar industry. This includes Diesel Engine experience.
Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and repair a variety of small engines and landscaping equipment. Excellent sense for organization.
Certification in small engine repair or equivalent is preferred.
Familiarity with the tools and equipment used in landscaping and groundskeeping.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Spanish speaking is a plus.
Additional Requirements
Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.
Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.
