Job description

Summary Supervises, organizes, and coordinates the maintenance and daily operations of park facilities and park properties. Also supervises, organizes, and coordinates a capital project program to replace and/or enhance park facilities and properties. Essential Functions Supervise, organize, and schedule activities performed in park property and facilities to ensure that approved desired level of services are provided; Supervise the planning, design, and quality control of landscape and construction projects for parks and recreation facilities; Assist in the development and monitoring of operating and capital budgets; Estimate costs and prepare specifications for equipment and supplies; Select, train, supervise, and evaluate subordinate employees; Communicate with citizens to receive input and requests, and resolve customer complaints; Prepare feasibility studies and other reports; Perform related duties as directed.

Qualifications Completion of a college degree in landscape architecture, park administration, or a related field. Registered as a Landscape Architect, or ability to obtain registration within one year of employment with an additional three to five years park maintenance or park development experience; or any combination of relevant education and experience which provides the following: Physical Exam Required Valid Current Commercial Driver's License Registered. Landscape Architect License Knowledge and Abilities Knowledge of: The methods and practices of park maintenance and development.

Ability to: Supervise the work of others; Maintain accurate records; Communicate effectively with others; Administer capital projects, including budget and construction activities. Physical Requirements Frequently kneel and bend during the shift Frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds Occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds Frequently push and pull objects Occasionally flex upper trunk forward at the waist and partially flex at the knees Occasionally rotate upper trunk to the right or left while sitting or standing Place arms above, at or below shoulder height Coordinate eye, hand and foot movement in order to operate a vehicle
