Job description

The Design Associate position is a developmental landscape architectural position working under direct supervision to support a project team by designing a portion of projects and addressing landscape architectural issues for various projects. In this role, and employee will be expected to develop and demonstrate proficiency in regard to the essential functions of the job found below.

Responsibilities:ย 

  • Utilize AutoCAD and related software to complete assignments on time and within prescribed standards as outlined in the RVi Quality Assurance Quality Control manual and established standards.
  • Provide additional support
    • Drafting Documents and computations
    • Participation in Design process including understanding of the industry standard Conceptual through Construction Administration design phases.
    • Be able to intelligently translate abstract design sketches from colleagues into functioning digital design documents.
    • Opinions of probable costs
    • Project Schedules
    • Preparing construction-related services
  • Complete edits and modify plans as reviewed by agencies, municipalities, and clients as directed.
  • Complete site visits as required. Perform site walks
  • Communicate with Project Manager on workload status, schedule, and tasks in order to meet designated chargeability goals.
  • An advanced understanding of the following technical skills that pertain to your region:
    • AutoCAD
    • AdobeCS
    • Technical Writing
    • Revit
    • Lumion
    • MS Office

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Architecture or related field and/or equivalent experience.

Experience:ย 

  • 2+ years of practical experience in related field
  • The ability to apply fundamental design concepts to practical situations utilizing your background and/or equivalent experience
