**Landscaping Foreman (Full-Time)

Location: Sussex, WI 53

**1st Shift: **Mon. - Fri. (7am - 3/5pm)

Rate: $20 - $30/hour (Based on Experince)

Overview

We are seeking a reliable, experienced, and hands-on Landscaping Foreman to lead day-to-day operations for residential and commercial landscaping projects. This role oversees a crew, ensures high-quality workmanship, and maintains project efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, a solid work ethic, and deep knowledge of landscaping practices.

Key Responsibilities Crew Leadership & Management
  • Lead, supervise, and motivate a landscaping crew of 2–6 team members.
  • Provide on-site training, delegation, and performance feedback.
  • Ensure crews start on time, maintain productivity, and follow company standards.
Project Execution
  • Read and interpret project plans, designs, and work orders.
  • Perform and oversee tasks such as planting, mulching, mowing, pruning, edging, sod installation, grading, hardscape prep, and seasonal cleanups.
  • Operate and maintain landscaping equipment (mowers, trimmers, skid steers, etc.).
  • Ensure all work meets quality expectations and deadlines.
Customer Interaction
  • Communicate professionally with clients on-site regarding progress, concerns, or changes.
  • Address issues promptly and coordinate with management when needed.
Safety & Compliance
  • Enforce safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized job site.
  • Perform daily equipment inspections and report issues.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations and company procedures.
Administrative Tasks
  • Track material usage, job hours, and project status accurately.
  • Assist in planning daily routes, schedules, and material pickups.
  • Submit required paperwork and reports in a timely manner.
Qualifications Required
  • 2+ years of experience in landscaping or grounds maintenance.
  • 1+ year of crew leadership or foreman experience.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to operate landscaping tools and heavy equipment such as an excavator and front-end-loader.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions and lift 50+ lbs.
Preferred
  • Experience with hardscaping (pavers, retaining walls, grading).
  • Ability to tow trailers/equipment.
  • Knowledge of plant identification and landscape design principles.
Schedule & Work Environment
  • Full-time, typically Monday–Friday (seasonal weekend availability may be required).
  • Outdoor, physical work environment in varying weather conditions.
