Description

Primary Purpose:

The CDL Driver is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of landscape materials, equipment, and supplies to and from job sites and company locations. This position plays a key role in supporting daily operations by ensuring crews have the materials they need, maintaining an organized yard, and assisting with logistics and inventory. This is a hands-on position that requires flexibility and a team-first attitude.

Essential Duties:

Safely operate company's CDL vehicles in compliance with all DOT regulations and company policies. 

Deliver landscape materials, equipment, and supplies to job sites throughout Maryland, Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Delaware. 

Assist with occasional overnight or out-of-state deliveries as needed. 

Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly. 

Maintain required DOT logs, inspection reports, and other transportation records. 

Assist production crews with loading and unloading trucks and trailers. 

Support equipment movement between branches and job sites as needed. 

  • Work      collaboratively with field crews, sales staff, mechanics, purchasing, and      office personnel. 
  • Assist      with general shop, yard, and operational duties 
  • Perform      other duties as assigned to support company operations. 

Competencies:

Ability to safely load, secure, and transport materials and equipment. 

Dependable, flexible, and team oriented. 

  • Provide      excellent customer service when delivering to client's properties. 

Work Environment 

Frequently lift and carry up to 75 pounds. 

Ability to climb in and out of commercial vehicles and equipment. 

Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform physical work throughout the day. 

Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions. 

Ability to work overtime, weekends, and occasional overnight travel as business needs require. 

Travel 

Local travel to more than one job or office location is required daily

Requirements

Reasonable Accommodations Statement 

Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with acceptable driving record. 

Current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate. 

Experience operating dump trucks, flatbeds, trailers, and transport equipment preferred. 

Forklift, skid steer, or loader experience preferred.

Schedule: Normal start time is 6:30 a.m., Monday through Friday. Due to the seasonal nature of the landscape industry, work hours vary based on workload, weather, and customer needs. Overtime, weekend work, and overnight travel may be required.
