Bucket Operator Summary
The Bucket Operator is responsible for safely operating a bucket truck to perform tree trimming, pruning, and removal services for residential and commercial clients. The role involves working at heights, ensuring the safety of the work site, and collaborating with tree service crews to complete various tree care tasks.
Duties/ Responsibilities
  • Safely operate a bucket truck to access tree canopies and perform trimming, pruning, and removal work.
  • Collaborate with the ground crew to assess work requirements and assist in determining the most efficient approach.
  • Inspect and maintain the bucket truck and related equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety.
  • Trim or remove tree limbs and branches, ensuring minimal impact to surrounding property and vegetation.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate work activities and ensure safe execution of tasks.
  • Safely lower or cut down limbs, branches, or entire trees using appropriate techniques and equipment.
  • Assist in the cleanup of the worksite, ensuring all debris is properly disposed of or recycled.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, or other issues to the supervisor in a timely manner.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience operating a bucket truck or similar equipment preferred.
  • Knowledge of tree care practices, including pruning, trimming, and safe removal techniques.
  • Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
  • Follow safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhering to OSHA regulations.
