Job Description
The Project Manager is a licensed Landscape Architect responsible for leading and developing high-performing project teams while ensuring the successful delivery of multiple landscape architecture projects. This role balances people leadership with project oversight, creating an environment where team members are supported, challenged, and empowered to produce exceptional work. The Project Manager provides coaching, mentorship, and day-to-day leadership for designers and planners, fosters collaboration across disciplines, and maintains accountability for project quality, client satisfaction, schedule, and financial performance.
Responsibilities
Team Leadership and People Development
  • Lead, mentor, and develop Staff Designers, Staff Planners, and Student Interns through coaching, feedback, and professional development.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and accountable team culture.
  • Effectively delegate work based on individual strengths, experience, and development goals.
  • Provide guidance and technical oversight throughout all phases of project delivery.
  • Support workload planning, resource allocation, and team utilization in coordination with leadership.
  • Promote continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and adherence to firm standards and best practices.
  • Participate in recruiting, onboarding, and developing future team members.

Project Leadership
  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams from project initiation through construction administration.
  • Establish project goals, organize project teams, and facilitate successful project execution.
  • Attend scheduling meetings and coordinate project resources.
  • Lead project and client meetings while maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Guide project research, programming, conceptual design, and material and site furnishing selections.
  • Coordinate design reviews and oversee preparation of presentation materials.
  • Develop creative design solutions that align with client objectives and project requirements.
  • Prepare and review project correspondence, documentation, and presentations.
  • Coordinate consultant agreements and consultant deliverables.
  • Oversee CAD production, project specifications, and construction documentation.
  • Review, approve, and seal construction documents.
  • Direct construction administration activities, including site visits, submittal reviews, and coordination with contractors.
  • Ensure compliance with RVi's Quality Control review process.

Project & Financial Management
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and overall project performance.
  • Monitor project financials and provide monthly budget updates to leadership.
  • Review quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and project fee performance.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the firm's quality standards.
  • Review and approve reprographics and printed project materials.

Qualifications
Education
  • Landscape Architecture degree from accredited BLA or MLA university program

Registration and Certification
  • Registered Landscape Architect and CLARB certification

Experience and Skills
  • 5-10 years of experience in a private sector design or planning office
  • Advanced AutoCAD and customizations, Photoshop, SketchUp, and Microsoft Office suite
  • Advanced contract document layout and production knowledge
  • Advanced hand and digital rendering skills
