Position: Land Surveying Project Manager

Location: Edmonton, Alberta

Position Overview:

The Project Manager will be based out of our Sherwood Park office and is responsible to manage a wide variety of projects with an emphasis on business development and client retention. The incumbent will perform a wide spectrum of survey work including legal and construction surveys for the commercial construction industry, the energy sector (upstream and/or midstream), transportation and industrial projects, and more.

The successful candidate is expected to complete various duties from estimating and project setup, coordinating field and office teams, checking field returns and plans, budgeting and cost-control, as well as handling all client communications. The ideal candidate will be comfortable in developing new client relations and have a strong interest in growing the business.

General Responsibilities:

  • Ability and interest in helping grow our client base
  • Develops quality client relations with focus on business development, sales, and client retention
  • Meets with clients to discuss project requirements and drafts proposals based on the agreed scope of work
  • Develops each project plan and assigns tasks to appropriate field and office staff
  • Continuously monitors project progress against budgetary and profit targets, and initiate appropriate changes as required
  • Ensures each project is carried out according to the standards set out by the company's health and safety program; regulatory requirements; professional requirements; and Challenger policy and procedures
  • Keeps abreast of technical, professional, or regulatory developments and is able to advise clients in their use
  • Provides the information required for the development of proposals, project reports, client invoices and assist in collections on an as-required basis

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in geomatics and/or licensed land surveyor.
  • A degree or diploma from a Geomatics Engineering Technology program.
  • Understanding of UAV and 3D Laser Scanning Equipment and software for data processing, point clouds, and 3D modeling is an asset.
  • Excellent client liaison abilities in providing high-quality customer experiences.
  • Demonstrates integrity and leadership in attitude, teamwork, participation, commitment to corporate objectives, and character, creating enthusiasm & inspiration within the realm of influence.
  • A self-starter taking ownership of key performance targets and professional development.
  • Excellent communicator able to listen empathetically and provide the most effective communication method appropriate for the audience.
  • Highly organized in all aspects of project management and manages time and prioritizes task effectively.
