Job description

We are seeking an experienced Vice President - Land to oversee and refine land operations, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. This role serves as the bridge between senior leadership, project execution, and client service, ensuring that workflows are optimized and that PLM continues to deliver high-quality land services. The Vice President - Land will oversee department managers, support high-level negotiations, contribute to business expansion efforts, and maintain operational consistency across the company.
Land Operations & Execution
  • Oversee land-related responsibilities across departments, ensuring structured and efficient workflows.
  • Assist managers with complex land-related issues and high-level negotiations.
  • Identify procedural challenges and implement solutions to enhance project execution.
  • Conduct right-of-way research and explore potential new project areas.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging opportunities.

Client & Account Oversight
  • Serve as a key contact for major client accounts, ensuring service quality and long-term relationships.
  • Oversee client communications for consistency and professionalism.
  • Work with business development and account management teams to identify growth opportunities.
  • Engage with current and potential clients to strengthen relationships and position PLM as a trusted partner.

Strategic Leadership & Collaboration
  • Oversee department managers and facilitate structured decision-making across land operations.
  • Maintain company-wide checks and balances to ensure consistency and alignment with operational goals.
  • Assist with administrative billing updates related to land services.
  • Contribute to recruiting and hiring efforts for critical land positions.
  • Represent PLM in industry associations and community events.
  • Lead efforts to expand PLM's business beyond oil and gas by leveraging existing company resources.

Marketing & Business Development
  • Contribute to marketing initiatives, including intern management, online accounts, and advertising.
  • Research and evaluate potential future clients and markets.
  • Develop promotional materials, presentations, and branded items.
  • Establish and execute targeted advertising campaigns to support business development.

Preferred Experience & Skills
  • Extensive experience in land services, including title research, leasehold acquisitions, regulatory frameworks, and project execution.
  • Strong operational background with the ability to oversee multiple projects and teams while maintaining efficiency and quality.
  • Proficiency in productivity and industry-specific technology to streamline workflows and manage projects.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • AAPL membership preferred; RPL or CPL certification is a plus but not required.

Preferred Education (Not Required)
  • Bachelor's degree in energy management, land management, energy commerce, or a related field preferred.
  • A law degree (J.D.) or in-house experience with an operator is a plus but not required.
