Job description

The Site Development & Planning Civil Engineer-in-Training supports the planning, design, and execution of land development projects under the guidance of licensed engineers. This role contributes to the preparation of engineering documents, calculations, and technical analyses for projects such as commercial, municipal, and mixed-use developments. The position focuses on developing foundational technical skills while assisting in delivering high-quality, compliant, and constructible site solutions. This is a full-time, exempt position paid on a salary basis.

Parkhill is one of the largest architectural and engineering firms in the Southwest with14offices located throughout Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma. 


  • Contact city staff and agencies for project coordination and data collection
  • Support basic design and calculations to support site grading, drainage analysis, water and sanitary sewer utilities and paving improvements
  • Assist in the development of construction plans, specifications, and Opinions of Probable Costs
  • Collaborate with team members on design specifications and timelines
  • Perform field observation work when necessary, under minimal supervision

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
  • EIT obtained
  • At least 2 years of experience (preferred)
  • Experience with software including AutoCAD Civil 3D and ArcGIS is preferred
  • Excellent client and team communication
