Senior Civil Engineer โ€“ Land Development

Location: Farmington Hills, MI or Toledo, OH

Employment Type: Full Time

Working with our Land Development team, you will lead and support civil engineering projects from concept through construction, working closely with multidisciplinary teams and clients.

What Youโ€™ll Do

  • Lead and support land development projects from initial planning and design through permitting, bidding, and construction.
  • Prepare and review site layout, grading, drainage, utility, stormwater management, erosion control, and construction plans.
  • Coordinate with clients, municipalities, agencies, contractors, and internal team members to move projects forward efficiently.
  • Assist with technical reports, specifications, cost estimates, feasibility studies, and permit applications.
  • Provide construction-phase support, including responding to questions, reviewing submittals, and assisting with field observations.
  • Mentor and collaborate with junior staff while contributing to quality control and continuous improvement efforts.

What Weโ€™re Looking For

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university..
  • Minimum of 10 years of profressive experience in Land Development engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Ohio or Michigan
  • Ability and willingness to obtain additional state licenses through reciprocity, as needed.
  • Experience with civil site design, land development, stormwater management, utilities, grading, and permitting.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and familiarity with applicable codes, standards, and municipal review processes.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A collaborative mindset and commitment to delivering high-quality work for clients and communities.
