Job description

Responsibilities

  • Manage land survey and construction projects for the entire project cycle while maintaining client contact

  • Produce survey-related projects using AutoCAD Civil 3D

  • Mentor, train and oversee the work of field staff

  • Prepare calculations and project preparation for field crews

  • Schedule field work

  • Produce and implement survey field standards and quality control

  • Recommend field equipment purchases and upgrades for the department

  • Check field work to verify completeness and accuracy

  • On site assistance on field survey projects as a supervisor

  • Assist with recruiting and evaluating new hires

  • Communicate with Leadership and Project Managers on constant basis

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in land development (commercial, industrial, single-family, etc.) and municipal development projects

  • Must possess the Professional Land Surveyor licensure in Kentucky or ability to obtain within 1 year.

  • Advanced knowledge of survey field procedures

  • Advanced knowledge of survey equipment and software (Trimble a plus)

  • Ability to evaluate field data and perform survey calculations in AutoCAD Civil 3D

  • Ability to oversee and manage a project team of field survey staff

  • Verbal skills and organizational ability to communicate with project managers and staff

  • Time management skills
