Job description

BRW Contracting, Inc. is a Central Florida full-service site development company located in Land O' Lakes. Our services Includes land clearing and grading, underground utilities, concrete, and asphalt. We have been in the market for more than 20 years offering equal job opportunities.

We are currently looking to add experienced Flaggers to our MOT crews!

Job Description:

  • Direct and safely control vehicular and pedestrian traffic through work zones using proper flagging procedures and communication methods.
  • Set up and maintain channelizing devices, and other traffic control equipment according to Federal, State, and/or Local temporary traffic control guidelines and temporary traffic control plans for complex work zones to ensure the safe movement of vehicular and pedestrian traffic through project locations and work zones.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and the public while always maintaining a professional approach to meeting customers’ expectations.
  • Check work zone throughout shift to be sure items are still in their proper location.
  • Must be able to identify potential Hazards and assist in maintaining a safe work environment for all employees.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and practices and notify their supervisor of any potential safety issues or incidents.
  • Maintain FDOT Flagger certification.
  • Maintain all MOT equipment i.e., arrow boards, slow/stop paddles, 2-way radios and channeling devices.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Current FDOT Flagger Certification required; willingness and ability to obtain FDOT Intermediate Temporary Traffic Control Certification in the future.
  • 3 to 5 years of construction MOT experience.
  • Valid Driver’s License with a clean MVR.
  • Must have open availability.
  • Must be capable of standing 8-12 hours and lifting 50lbs repetitively using proper lifting techniques.
  • Excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to follow safe work practices and company safety guidelines; Must be responsible.
  • Competent in working around a high volume, fast-moving traffic.
