Anyon Systems est une entreprise d'informatique quantique situee dans la region du Grand Montreal. Nous developpons et commercialisons des ordinateurs quantiques supraconducteurs.

Nous recherchons un(e) technicien(ne) principal(e) de laboratoire en electronique pour se joindre a notre equipe d'electronique de controle quantique. Il s'agit d'un poste pratique, principalement en laboratoire, offrant de belles possibilites d'evolution. A court terme, la personne participera a l'assemblage de prototypes, au depannage et a l'integration de systemes. A mesure que le programme Gen-4 progressera, ses responsabilites s'etendront a la validation de conception ainsi qu'a l'integration de cryostats et d'ordinateurs quantiques.

La personne ideale aime travailler directement sur les equipements, est a l'aise avec des responsabilites qui evoluent et possede les connaissances techniques necessaires pour progresser avec le programme.

Responsabilites

  • Assembler, fabriquer et modifier des assemblages electroniques prototypes, des montages d'essai, des cables, des faisceaux de cables, des adaptateurs et des dispositifs de laboratoire.
  • Effectuer des travaux de soudure et de dessoudure, de reprise de composants montes en surface (SMT), de remplacement de composants et de reparation de cartes electroniques.
  • Diagnostiquer des circuits electroniques au niveau des composants, des cartes et des systemes, puis effectuer des essais et des mesures numeriques afin de valider leur performance.
  • Utiliser les equipements de laboratoire courants, notamment les oscilloscopes, multimetres, blocs d'alimentation, generateurs de signaux et analyseurs logiques.
  • Tenir a jour les registres d'etalonnage et veiller a l'organisation du laboratoire.
  • Lire et interpreter des schemas, des dessins de circuits imprimes, des fiches techniques et des exigences d'essai.
  • Creer et tenir a jour des procedures et des rapports d'essai.
  • Participer aux essais d'integration et a la validation des cartes et des systemes, y compris leur integration aux cryostats et aux ordinateurs quantiques.
  • Collaborer avec les equipes de conception electronique et mecanique et participer activement aux activites de conception pour la fabrication et l'assemblage (DFMA).
  • Tenir a jour les nomenclatures de materiel (BOM).
  • Travailler avec les sous-traitants responsables du routage des circuits imprimes et de la fabrication cle en main des cartes electroniques, de la mise en production jusqu'a la livraison.
  • Aider les equipes de fabrication et de production a resoudre les problemes materiels pendant l'assemblage et le passage en production.

Qualifications

  • DEC en technologie de l'electronique, ou diplome collegial equivalent, avec un minimum de cinq ans d'experience pertinente dans l'industrie.
  • Excellentes competences pratiques en laboratoire, notamment en soudure, en reprise SMT, en diagnostic au niveau des composants, en assemblage de prototypes et en fabrication de cables et de faisceaux.
  • Solides competences en diagnostic electronique et experience pratique avec les equipements de laboratoire courants.
  • Connaissance des methodes d'integration, d'essai et de validation au niveau des cartes et des systemes.
  • Experience en tenue a jour de nomenclatures de materiel et en gestion des revisions.
  • Experience de travail avec des sous-traitants en routage de circuits imprimes et des fournisseurs de fabrication cle en main de cartes electroniques.
  • Excellentes aptitudes organisationnelles et capacite a travailler avec un minimum de supervision tout en gerant plusieurs activites en parallele.

About Anyon Systems

Anyon Systems is a quantum computing company located in the Greater Montreal area. We develop and commercialize superconducting quantum computers.

We are seeking a Senior Electronic Lab Technician to join our Quantum Control Electronics Team. This is a hands-on, lab-focused role with clear opportunities for growth. In the near term, the successful candidate will focus on prototype assembly, debugging, and system integration. As the Gen-4 program progresses, the role will expand to include design validation and the integration of cryostats and quantum computers.

The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on bench work, is comfortable taking ownership of an evolving scope, and has the technical depth to grow alongside the program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble, build, and modify prototype electronic assemblies, test setups, cables, harnesses, adapters, and laboratory fixtures.
  • Perform hands-on soldering, desoldering, surface-mount technology (SMT) rework, component replacement, and board-level repairs.
  • Troubleshoot electronic circuits at the component, board, and system levels, and perform digital testing and measurements to validate performance.
  • Operate standard laboratory equipment, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, signal generators, and logic analyzers.
  • Maintain calibration records and keep the laboratory organized.
  • Read and interpret schematics, PCB layouts, datasheets, and engineering test requirements.
  • Create and maintain test procedures and reports.
  • Support board- and system-level integration testing and validation, including integration with cryostats and quantum computers.
  • Collaborate with electronic and mechanical design teams and proactively participate in design for manufacturing and assembly (DFMA) activities.
  • Maintain bills of materials (BOMs).
  • Work with PCB layout subcontractors and turnkey electronic board manufacturers from design release through delivery.
  • Support manufacturing and production teams in resolving hardware issues during assembly and the transition to production.

Qualifications

  • A DEC in Electronics Technology or an equivalent college diploma, with a minimum of five years of relevant industry experience.
  • Strong hands-on bench skills, including soldering, SMT rework, component-level troubleshooting, prototype assembly, and cable and harness fabrication.
  • Strong electronic troubleshooting skills and hands-on experience with standard laboratory equipment.
  • Familiarity with board- and system-level integration, testing, and validation practices.
  • Experience maintaining BOMs and managing revisions.
  • Demonstrated experience working with PCB layout subcontractors and turnkey electronic board production vendors.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to work under minimal supervision and manage several activities at the same time.
  • Functional English is required; French-English bilingualism is a strong asset.
  • Candidates must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents of Canada, or holders of an open work permit.

Nice to Have

  • Experience writing test scripts for laboratory automation and instrument control, preferably using Python. Experience with LabVIEW or MATLAB is an asset.
  • Experience with SCPI-based communication with laboratory equipment.
  • Experience with RF testing and measurement, including spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers (VNAs), and RF signal-chain validation.
  • IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, or IPC-7711/7721 certification.
