ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Project Management & Engineering
  • Lead electrical, automation, and capital improvement projects from concept through commissioning.
  • Develop conceptual designs, detailed engineering plans, budgets, and project schedules.
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Manage contractors, vendors, and internal resources throughout project execution.
  • Develop bills of materials and oversee purchasing activities.
  • Generate project documentation, drawings, and training materials.

Electrical & Controls Systems
  • Design, program, configure, and troubleshoot PLC, DCS, QCS, and web inspection systems.
  • Program Allen-Bradley PLCs (Studio 5000) and configure HMI applications.
  • Troubleshoot and support electric drives (Allen-Bradley PowerFlex, ABB), motors, MCCs, switchgear, substations, and power distribution systems.
  • Support boiler and steam system controls.
  • Maintain logs of electrical issues contributing to unscheduled downtime.
  • Assist maintenance teams with complex electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.

Leadership & Collaboration
  • Provide technical leadership and direction to electrical technicians.
  • Organize, prioritize, and assign project work effectively.
  • Develop and deliver training for operations and maintenance personnel.
  • Foster a cooperative, team-oriented work environment.
  • Communicate objectives clearly and consistently across departments.

Safety & Compliance
  • Maintain strict adherence to all company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in safety reviews and ensure safe work practices during all project phases.
  • Serve as a role model for safe behavior and continuous improvement.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
  • Strong problem-solving skills for complex electrical and process issues.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), MS Project, and AutoCAD.
  • Strong PLC programming and industrial drives experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3-5 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment (paper industry preferred).
  • Experience with Honeywell Experion DCS, QCS systems, HMI development, and LabVIEW.
  • Electrical substation and power distribution experience.
  • Motor diagnostics, instrumentation calibration, and troubleshooting experience.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee must have the:
  • Ability to climb stairs, bend, kneel, crouch, and work in industrial environments.
  • Ability to work safely around moving mechanical equipment.
  • Use of required PPE including hearing protection, safety glasses, and steel-toe footwear.
  • Availability for call-ins, extended hours, and limited travel as business needs require.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Salary Range: $75,000 - $105,000 annually
This range represents the reasonable, good-faith estimate of compensation for this position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, education, skills, and internal equity.
