Job description

Job Overview
The individual is capable of analyzing electronic and mechanical designs for Manufacturing testability, designing test fixtures, developing test procedures, applying software based testing solutions, and developing diagnostics in an ISO9001 environment. Test automation is a key responsibility of this position. Working with Development Engineering to achieve an adequate level of testability, and subsequently developing test fixtures and diagnostics electronic circuit boards. This individual must be able to lead Test Technicians through debugging, troubleshooting and working with other engineers through project completeness.

A Day In The Life
  • Informs Manufacturing Engineering Manager of project status, problems, accomplishments and plans on a regular basis.
  • Analyzes new designs for testability. Recommends circuit and firmware enhancements to improve testability.
  • Develops and documents test plans for all new modules and systems.
  • Develops automated tests & diagnostics using LabVIEW, Python or other.
  • Designs test fixtures, including electronic circuitry where needed and manages the construction of the fixture.
  • Prepares and maintains written test procedures in accordance with ISO9001.
  • Capable of working in basic business support systems (i.e. SAP).
  • Develops and implements plans to reduce pre-test times and increase test integrity.
  • Maintains test fixtures in accordance with ISO9001 standards.
  • Works with or in tandem of senior level employees and Development Engineering to propose and produce testing standards for new or upgraded products.
  • Provide support to Manufacturing as needed.
  • Participate in Design for Manufacturing Kaizens to provide input and guidance for assembly and test sequences for a lean manufacturing environment.

  • BSEE with 5 to 8 years of experience in an electronics manufacturing environment.
  • Strong Electro-mechanical background
  • Experience with LabVIEW is preferred; knowledge of programming structure fundamentals are required
  • Experience with lean manufacturing processes is a plus
  • Knowledge of standard test equipment; power supplies, meters, scopes, function generators etc.
  • Work effectively and collaboratively with others.
  • Ability to work independently with little to no supervision.
  • Strong communication skills, performs other duties and responsibilities as needed.
