Job description

MEMS Engineering Technician
 
Role Overview
We are seeking a full-time MEMS Engineering Technician to support our engineering team in the development, testing, and analysis of Microelectromechanical Systems. This role combines hands-on micro-assembly and precision soldering with automated data collection and analysis using LabVIEW.
 
Key Responsibilities

  • Equipment & Cleanroom Support: Install, calibrate, and maintain MEMS fabrication and testing equipment.
  • Micro-Assembly & Soldering: Perform precision micro-soldering, wire bonding, and circuit assembly under magnifying tools or microscopes.
  • LabVIEW Development: Build, modify, and maintain basic LabVIEW Virtual Instruments (VIs) to automate test sequences and communicate with lab instruments.
  • Data Collection & Analysis: Execute rigorous test protocols, harvest data from sensor systems, and prepare data sheets for the engineering team.

 
Required Qualifications

  • Experience working with electronics, micro-assembly, or a cleanroom environment.
  • Proficient hands-on skills with precision soldering irons, multimeters, and oscilloscopes.
  • Full-time availability with strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • AutoCAD experience.

 
Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree or certification in Electronics Engineering Technology, MEMS, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with MEMS sensor characterization (e.g., accelerometers, pressure sensors).
  • Practical experience writing or editing LabVIEW code for data acquisition (DAQ) is preferred.

 
Anticipated Pay: $65k +/-
