Position Summary

The General Labourer supports daily site operations by performing a variety of manual labour tasks in an industrial manufacturing environment. This role plays a key part in maintaining safe, clean, and efficient operations while supporting production teams, supervisors, and skilled trades at our Cobourg facility.


Key Responsibilities

Operational Support

  • Assist supervisors, machine operators, and skilled trades with daily operational activities
  • Perform general labour duties including material handling, production support, and cleanup
  • Load, unload, and transport tools, equipment, and materials
  • Prepare work areas and ensure readiness for manufacturing and operational tasks
  • Support production processes, equipment setup, and maintenance activities as required


Health & Safety

  • Follow all Soluroc safety policies, procedures, and site-specific rules
  • Properly use required PPE at all times
  • Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions
  • Report hazards, near misses, incidents, and unsafe conditions immediately
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment


Teamwork & Reliability

  • Work collaboratively with team members, supervisors, and production staff
  • Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic
  • Adapt to changing priorities and production needs
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support operational requirements


Qualifications & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, industrial, or labour-intensive environments is an asset
  • Experience working with machinery or production equipment (e.g., lathe) is considered a strong asset
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work (lifting, bending, standing for long periods)
  • Willingness to work in an industrial environment with varying conditions
  • Strong awareness of safety practices and willingness to follow instructions
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation an asset
