Job Description and Responsibilities

The role of Labourer with InterPro Pipe and Steel is to support skilled workers in the steel manufacturing, processing, or fabrication industry by assisting in the preparation, movement, and handling of steel materials. This role involves physical labor, attention to safety protocols, and the ability to follow instructions to ensure the efficient operation of steel production or processing.

InterPro Pipe & Steel is committed to maintaining and promoting a safe, healthy and injury-free environment.

  • Load, unload, and move steel materials manually or using equipment such as forklifts, overhead cranes, or pallet jacks.

  • Assist in organizing and staging materials for production or shipment.

  • Assist skilled workers in cutting, welding, grinding, or shaping steel.

  • Prepare work areas by gathering tools, setting up equipment, and cleaning up after tasks are completed.

  • Clean and maintain tools, machines, and work areas to ensure optimal performance and safety.

  • Report any damaged equipment or safety hazards to supervisors.

  • Follow all safety guidelines and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

  • Comply with company policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.

  • This role requires working in industrial settings, which may involve exposure to loud noises, heavy machinery, and varying temperatures.

  • The Steel Helper must always adhere to strict safety standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Basic understanding of steel materials and industrial tools.

  • Physical ability to lift heavy objects (up to [insert weight, e.g., 50 lbs.) and perform manual labor for extended periods.

  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
