Job description

Dawson Construction is looking for Traffic Control Supervisors to join our team!

In this role you will be a valued member of Dawson Construction, working as a seasonal, full-time Traffic Control Supervisor reporting to Foreman, Paving.  The Traffic Control Supervisor works collaboratively to coordinate the traffic control plans and is a key partner in ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget. The ideal candidate will work effectively with customers, both internal and external, to provide a valued service in Highway Construction. This position is based in Kamloops, BC and will require some travel throughout our great province.


WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

  • Perform traffic control setup according to traffic control plans and monitor continuously
  • Supervise and coordinate traffic control crews, monitoring performance and making adjustments to maintain safety and efficiency
  • Manage traffic control equipment inventory
  • Perform daily traffic site inspections
  • Ensure that all paperwork is completed in a timely manner per company and project standards
  • Direct and oversee the safe flow of public and construction traffic and ensure the safety & security of the public and site crew
  • Communicate effectively with motorists, crew members, and stakeholders, providing clear directions and hazard awareness
  • Coordinate scheduling and operations based on client requirements, adapting to changing timelines and site conditions


WHAT YOU BRING

  • BCCSA Traffic Ticket certification is required
  • Lane Closure Technician (LCT) certification is required
  • Class 5 Driver's License is required
  • Ability to routinely lift 50lbs and perform physical labour
  • Experience working on Ministry of Transportation (MoTT) Projects and knowledge of the MoTT Traffic management Manual is an asset
