Job Description:

Christman Constructors, Inc. (CCI) is looking for Laborers in Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids Michigan.

This position requires union membership. We will support qualified candidates in becoming union members.

What You Will Do:

  • Cleans and prepares construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.

  • Assists with loading and unloading materials and equipment, distributing them to the appropriate locations as directed.

  • Uses required tools to complete assigned tasks on the job site.

  • Follows instructions from supervisors and implements construction plans.

  • Assists other trades workers on the job site.

  • Directs traffic during roadway construction, as required.

  • Builds and takes down scaffolding or temporary structures, as required.

  • Assists with maintenance of construction tools or equipment.

  • Keeps immediate working area clean. Must use broom and wheelbarrows and follow material procedures.

  • Identifies and reports safety hazards. Takes all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards.

  • Demonstrates safe working practices and complies with all safety requirements.
