Job description

The Laborer is responsible for handling, sorting, and processing non-ferrous and ferrous metals (e.g., copper, aluminum, brass). This position ensures materials are properly categorized and prepared for resale or further processing.
Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and sort non-ferrous metals using visual inspection and handheld tools.
  • Operate balers, shears, and other machinery to process materials.
  • Processing and dismantling end-of-life vehicles including draining and removal of parts.
  • Identify and remove any non-recyclable or hazardous material.
  • Maintain consistent pace and accuracy.
  • Assist with general labor tasks as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety in the work area.

Requirements
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and parts.
  • Basic knowledge of metal types and characteristics.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and stamina for repetitive tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE.
  • Forklift certification preferred.

Working Conditions
  • Work is performed in an industrial environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
