PRN Obstetrical Registered Nurse: 2nd Shift

Position Overview

The Obstetrical Registered Nurse (RN) provides compassionate, skilled nursing care to obstetrical patients and newborns. This role supports patients throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum care, ensuring the highest standards of safety, comfort, and clinical excellence.

Position Details
  • Employment Type: PRN (as needed)
  • Shift: 2nd Shift, 12-hour shifts
  • Schedule: Varies based on departmental needs

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to obstetrical patients throughout labor, delivery, and recovery
  • Monitor maternal and fetal well-being, recognizing and responding to changes in condition
  • Assist physicians and providers during labor, delivery, and postpartum procedures
  • Administer medications and maintain accurate, timely documentation
  • Educate patients and families on postpartum care, newborn health, and recovery
  • Respond effectively to urgent and emergent situations
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care team members to ensure optimal outcomes
Minimum Qualifications
  • Licensure: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
  • Certifications:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) โ€“ required
    • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) โ€“ required within 6 months of hire
    • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) โ€“ required within 6 months of hire
  • Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience preferred
