Job description

Firstech Environmental, Inc. is a full-service environmental consulting and site remediation contracting firm located in Farmingdale, New Jersey since 1996. Our experienced staff is dedicated to providing responsive environmental solutions throughout the State of New Jersey. We are seeking a skilled, Field Laborer with limited experience. Field Laborer will be responsible for a variety of tasks, primarily on a site remediation crew, and be required to have knowledge a wide range of hand tools. Note, you will also have to work outdoors in a mixture of weather conditions.

Field Technician/Environmental Assistant Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare site each day by preparing materials, tools, and equipment
  • After a year of employment,Firstechwill help to train and obtain a valid CDL drivers license with a tank endorsement. Willing to train to have a CDL tanker endorsement.
  • Complete previous projects or receive new project instructions from supervisor
  • Proactively communicate with company personnel as required
  • Follow instructions and use tools and equipment to complete daily tasks
  • Have or willing to obtain 40-hr. OSHA HAZWOPER and subsequent annual 8-hr. refresher
  • Follow all health and safety regulations at all times when onsite, operating equipment, driving vehicles, etc.
  • Ensure regulated and proper headgear, ear plugs, gloves, safety glasses, respirator and clothing are worn
  • Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner as required on a project basis
  • Prepare new construction sites by digging, moving dirt, or compacting soil as needed
  • Provide assistance to contractors (i.e. craft workers, masons, mechanical foreman, etc. ) as needed
  • Train other Field Laborers on experienced tasks and learn new tasks from coworkers
  • Clean and clear debris, hazardous and non-hazardous materials
  • Ensure construction equipment and tools are cleaned and stored properly

Field Technician/Enviromental Assistant Requirements and Qualifications:

  • MUST HAVE valid and clean (no points) NJ license and reliable means of transportation
  • CDL Class A driver's license a plus
  • Background checks are a requirement for employment
  • Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 100 pounds
  • Able to work independently or as an active member of a team

Job Type: Full-time

Salary:$20 to $24.00 /hour, commensurate with experience
