SUMMARY OF POSITION

We are seeking experienced Pipe Foremen, Track Hoe Operators, Track Loader Operators, Pipelayers and Laborers to join our growing pipe crews based in Hagerstown, MD. These roles focus on underground utility projects, including water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer installations, in the Hagerstown, Frederick, Winchester, and surrounding areas.


Successful candidates will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in their respective roles and a strong understanding of underground utility installation, trenching regulations, and pipeline safety. For the Pipe Foreman position, minimum 5 years of field leadership experience is required.


Please note that this position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with Kinsley Construction policies and procedures.


TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

PIPE FOREMAN

  • Effectively lead, manage, and motivate crews of 5 to 10 individuals.
  • Supervise the installation of new pipes in trench for storm or sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains.
  • Successfully manage and schedule subcontractors.
  • Interpret blueprints, project plans, and specifications.
  • Plan and schedule for necessary manpower, tools, materials, and equipment needed to complete the job.
  • Responsible for completing daily timesheets and maintaining daily logs.

TRACK LOADER OPERATOR

  • Operates track loader to excavate trenches, fill ditches or load materials.
  • Operates equipment in compliance with Kinsley's safety policies and OSHA procedures.
  • Ensures company equipment is maintained and in good running condition by greasing and checking fluids.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of underground utilities.
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required to complete the job.

TRACK HOE OPERATOR

  • Excavate trenches for mainline utilities such as water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer systems.
  • Backfill trenches, load materials, and manage trench boxes as needed.
  • Operate equipment safely in accordance with company policies and OSHA standards.
  • Perform regular maintenance on equipment, including greasing and checking fluids, to ensure optimal operation.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of underground utilities.
  • Carry out other related duties as required to complete project tasks.

EXPERIENCED PIPELAYER

  • Install new pipes for storm or sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains in prepared trenches.
  • Ensure pipes are aligned properly and positioned on grade andon line.
  • Assistwith backfilling andoperatecompaction equipment as needed.
  • Recognize and mitigate job site hazards.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as needed to support the crew.

LABORER

  • Assist in backfilling and running compaction equipment.
  • Clean and prepare construction sites by removing debris and possible hazards.
  • Use various hand and power tools.
  • Assist with removal of fine grade stones along curb lines and sidewalks.
  • Take and understand instructions from crew leaders.
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required.


REQUIREMENTS

    • Minimum 5 years of field leadership experience for the Pipe Foreman position.
    • Applicants should possess knowledge of underground utility installation, excavation regulations, and pipeline safety for the Pipe Foreman position.
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience operating track loaders/track hoes.
    • Previous experience with backhoes and excavators is preferred.
    • Strong knowledge of underground utility installation, excavation regulations, and pipeline safety.
    • Must be comfortable performing a variety of manual tasks for extended periods and sometimes in unfavorable weather conditions.
    • Perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms, legs, and movement of the whole body such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, and handling materials.
    • Ability to maintain all tools required for safe and effective track loader operation.
    • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
    • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
    • Ability to pass a pre-employment DOT physical and drug/alcohol test.
    • Strong punctuality and dependability.
