Salary Range: $185,000.00 - $275,000.00 Salary/year

We are a leading fertility center dedicated to providing exceptional reproductive care through advanced technology, compassionate patient care, and outstanding clinical outcomes. Our multidisciplinary team is committed to helping individuals and families achieve their dreams of parenthood.

We are seeking an experienced, collaborative, and highly motivated Laboratory Director to lead our laboratories. This individual will oversee all laboratory operations, ensure regulatory compliance, maintain the highest quality standards, and foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

The Laboratory Director is responsible for the overall management, quality, and performance of the fertility laboratory. This role provides leadership to laboratory managers and staff while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulatory and accreditation standards, including CLIA, JCAHO, FDA, and ASRM guidelines. The Laboratory Director works closely with physicians, clinical leadership, and administrative teams to optimize patient outcomes and laboratory efficiency.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Provide overall leadership and oversight of laboratory operations across multiple locations.
  • Partner with executive and physician leadership to develop and execute strategic initiatives that support laboratory growth and service expansion.
  • Lead, mentor, and support laboratory managers to promote operational excellence, staff development, and a culture of accountability.
  • Serve as the High Complexity Laboratory Director (HCLD) for assigned laboratory locations.
  • Oversee the accuracy and timely completion of SART data reporting, including prospective submissions and annual data finalization.
  • Review laboratory performance metrics and provide quarterly reports to physicians and organizational leadership.
  • Ensure laboratory operations comply with all applicable regulatory, accreditation, and quality standards.
  • Monitor quality assurance activities, incident reports, and laboratory performance indicators to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure appropriate corrective and preventive actions are implemented and documented for identified deficiencies.
  • Lead or participate in root cause analyses for significant laboratory events and oversee implementation of corrective action plans.
  • Review, approve, and maintain laboratory policies, standard operating procedures, and procedural updates to ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to best practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • PhD, MD, or equivalent doctoral degree in a biological or medical science preferred.
  • Board certification through the American Board of Bioanalysis (ABB) as a High Complexity Laboratory Director (HCLD) or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in an IVF laboratory.
  • Thorough knowledge of embryology, andrology, laboratory quality systems, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with CLIA, JCAHO, FDA, and accreditation processes.
  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and commitment to quality improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience leading multi-site laboratory operations.
  • Experience with laboratory expansion, workflow optimization, and strategic planning.
  • Strong background in quality assurance and laboratory compliance.
  • Experience implementing new technologies and laboratory information systems.
