Laboratory Assistant
Department: Dean of Science and Engineering
Location: Wellesley Hills

Located in Greater Boston, MassBay is a comprehensive, open-access community college offering associate degrees and certificate programs on three campuses in Wellesley Hills, Framingham, and Ashland, Massachusetts.
Position Summary:
The ideal candidate will join a vibrant and inclusiveeducational community and have a desire and ability to work with a diversepopulation. This is a part-time, studentemployment position with no benefits. This student employee will assist the STEMLaboratory Manager and Safety Compliance Officer and their designee in theoperation and maintenance of the biology and chemistry laboratories, and theassociated preparation spaces.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Assist in laboratory maintenance including:

-Cleaning glassware;
-Assisting with laboratory cleaning, organization, and stocking of supplies;
-Assisting with putting up safety signage;
  • Assist with inventory operations;
  • Assist in preparing materials for laboratory classes.

Required Qualifications:
  • Must be currently enrolled as a MassBay student;
  • Academically successful/GPA of 2.5 or higher;
  • Consistent and reliable work habits;

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills;
  • Strong organizational skills;
  • Familiarity with basic laboratory equipment;
  • Ability to use Microsoft Excel.
