Job description

Laboratory Systems Specialist

Pay Range: $31.03 - $46.54

A successful candidate's actual pay rate will be based on several factors including relevant experience, skills, training, certifications and education.

Under the direction of the Market Director of Laboratory Services, the Laboratory Systems Specialist serves as the primary laboratory resource for the workflow support, maintenance, optimization, and ongoing operationalization of technology systems across designated laboratories. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, test catalog and test library maintenance, policy and procedure development, ad hoc report creation, system upgrade planning and implementation support, middleware database management, user training, system administration, and troubleshooting. This position functions as a key liaison between Laboratory Services, Information Technology, and other hospital departments to coordinate the implementation of technology-related changes impacting clinical and operational workflows. The position collaborates closely with the System Laboratory Service Line to ensure standardization, system integrity, regulatory compliance, and the effective utilization of laboratory technology solutions across the organization.

Education Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, or a related field is required.
  • An associate degree or equivalent education and five years of experience in a clinical laboratory environment, laboratory information systems, or a related field may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
Experience Qualifications
  • Three to five years of experience in a clinical laboratory environment, laboratory information systems, or a related field is required.
Certifications, Licenses and Registrations
  • Certification through the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) is preferred.
