Job Summary
We are seeking a per diem Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Interventional Radiology team at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover, NH. This position is based on the main hospital campus and requires a commitment of 3-4 shifts per month. The Interventional Radiology service operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with no weekends, holidays, or on-call responsibilities.
This hire will work collaboratively with a team of Interventional Radiologists while practicing with a high degree of autonomy in the evaluation and management of patients undergoing image-guided procedures. Responsibilities include performing biopsies, paracenteses, thoracenteses, lumbar punctures, and port insertions, as well as providing peri-procedural care and participating in inpatient rounding. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced, procedure-oriented provider who is comfortable practicing independently in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Summary
The Physician Assistant (PA) is a licensed provider. The PA is responsible for the assessment and management of various populations of patients, medical and/or surgical, including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, development of appropriate plans of care and ongoing evaluation.

-Provides direct care, counseling, and teaching to a designated patient population in the ambulatory, inpatient, operative, and/or procedural setting.
-Performs complete histories and physical examinations.
-Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
-Develops appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on the outcomes of diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings.
-Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures.
-Consistently provides high quality and timely documentation including admission and progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes and discharge summaries.
-Performs bedside procedures as are appropriate to the patient population.
