This role demands reliability, teamwork, attention to safety, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

  • Operate hand tools and small equipment safely, including compactors, saws, plate tampers, and blowers.
  • Support equipment operators with clear communication and safe positioning around heavy machinery.
  • Ensure materials are staged and ready to keep crews productive and minimize downtime.

2. Safety, Compliance & Worksite Control

  • Follow all company safety protocols, OSHA requirements, and Foreman direction.
  • Wear required PPE at all times and maintain awareness of changing conditions.
  • Participate in daily safety huddles and hazard assessments.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free work areas.
  • Report unsafe conditions, near-misses, or equipment concerns immediately

3. Quality & Efficiency

  • Perform tasks with accuracy, attention to detail, and a sense of urgency.
  • Assist in quality control tasks, such as checking grades, monitoring mix consistency, and maintaining jobsite standards.
  • Help ensure work meets specifications through proper technique and care.
  • Contribute to efficient jobsite flow by anticipating needs and staying proactive.

4. Teamwork & Communication

  • Receive direction from the Foreman and work collaboratively with all crew members.
  • Maintain a respectful, positive attitude and support a healthy team environment.
  • Communicate clearly when tasks are complete, assistance is needed, or hazards are identified.
  • Support new laborers or team members by modeling safe and efficient work practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to perform physical labor, lift 50+ lbs, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn.
  • Basic understanding of construction tools, equipment, and safety practices.
  • Valid driver’s license preferred.
  • Prior construction or labor experience is a plus but not required.
