Job description

Do you wonder what makes buildings tick? LaBella Associates, is seeking an Electrical Engineer with a career interest in Building Projects to work in our Albany, NY or Poughkeepsie, NY office.

This position will work with other Engineers as part of a Project Team to develop concepts, strategies, designs, drawings, specifications, and reports for buildings from conception to construction. Individual will work closely with other engineers and team members to produce electrical engineering documents.

The Building Engineering Division at LaBella provides complete building engineering services including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural engineering. Services range from feasibility studies and analysis through project design and construction. Our engineers are well versed in new construction, renovations, additions, analysis, special structures, and design/build projects for a variety of clients.

The Electrical Engineer will work with Architects and Engineers as part of a project team to develop concepts, strategies, designs, drawings, specifications and reports. Duties shall include lighting calculations, power distribution design, circuit and feeder calculations, and power, telecommunication, security and systems layouts. Typical projects will involve field work, design, and construction administration services.


Candidates will work on an interesting variety of project types including K-12 and higher education, municipal, health care, large commercial, residential and other unique projects.

Duties

  • Work with other engineers as part of a Project Team to develop concepts, strategies, designs, drawings, specifications, and reports.
  • Prepare electrical design drawings using Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Perform lighting calculations and arc flash studies.
  • Perform field investigations to document existing conditions.
  • Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner with co-workers, staff, project managers, other disciplines, and all other employees.
  • Expected to improve current knowledge of technologies and trends, as they apply to the applicable project and market types, and continually strengthens skills.

Salary Range: $75,000 - $100,000 per year

The specific salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Associates Degree in electrical engineering or related field required.
  • 3 - 7 years of experience.
  • EIT certification is a plus.
  • Background in AutoCAD and/or Revit is preferred.
  • Experience in the A/E consulting business is a plus.
  • Strong writing, organizational and communications skills.
  • Ability to work on several projects simultaneously.
