Job description

Openings:

The open positions are for our 2nd (3:00pm to 11:00pm) and 3rd (11:00pm to 7:00am) shift, Monday through Friday. Two weeks of training will occur to accustom you to our everyday operations, which could possibly occur on a different shift.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Operate machines efficiently to produce and box envelopes accurately.
  • Examines job orders, reads and interprets specifications and reviews sample and shipping instructions.
  • Checks orders throughout the production process to ensure accuracy of labeling, printing, and packaging.
  • Inspects product quality according to guidelines and completes quality checks for envelope size, shape, window, gum seal, side seem and color print.
  • Maintains a neat and orderly work area and performs machine wash-up and other general cleaning duties including washing ink pans, pumps and glue areas.
  • Accurately completes paperwork to record labor, time and quality, maintenance and envelopes produced.
  • Maintains an accurate count of envelopes into cartons and on skids.
  • Packs envelopes uniformly and neatly into completed cartons while keeping up with machine speeds and place on skids.
  • Work closely with the machine adjuster regarding machine or product issues.
  • Any additional duties/jobs as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 - 3 years of Machine Operator experience or possesses solid experience within a similar position.
  • Possess a mechanical aptitude, good analytical skills, is detail oriented and the ability to read a ruler and calculate basic mathematical skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate production safety standards.
  • Takes pride and ownership in their job including maintaining good attendance and attention to quality.
  • Has initiative to take on additional responsibilities.
  • Enjoys hands on work.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Enjoys working in a Team Environment and shows the ability to work independently.
  • Envelope Industry preferred but not required.

Physical Demands:

Ability to stand for the approximate duration of the scheduled shift (minus paid lunch and breaks), walking occasionally, lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally, repetitive grasping, frequent twisting, lifting above shoulder height, occasional bending, reaching, crouching, squatting, kneeling or stooping. Occasionally pulling or pushing items. Sensory requirements are tactile/touch with hands and digits, near and far visual acuity, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
