Immediate Hirring For Forklift Operator (2nd Shift)

Job Description

The Forklift Operator (2nd Shift) safely operates industrial forklifts and reach trucks to complete a wide range of material handling tasks in a manufacturing environment. This role includes receiving, filling, shipping, and inspecting orders accurately and on time, as well as efficiently loading, unloading, and conveying materials throughout the facility. The position requires consistent adherence to safety and food safety procedures, accurate SAP transactions, and reliable support of production and logistics operations.

Responsibilities

  • Operate industrial forklifts, reach trucks, and other powered industrial trucks to handle materials safely and efficiently.
  • Identify and transport requested materials to and from machines, loading docks, production floors, trucks, and storage areas.
  • Review production schedules and shipping orders to determine required raw materials, equipment, and processing materials, then verify and transport them accordingly.
  • Apply knowledge of machine loading capacity and loading schedules to ensure prompt and efficient delivery of materials to production and shipping areas.
  • Use protective materials and strapping equipment to secure loads, remove strapping and wrapping after delivery, and dispose of waste materials in designated containers or areas.
  • Follow all company people safety and food safety procedures at all times while performing material handling and warehouse tasks.
  • Report any issues or problems with materials, equipment, or transportation to the supervisor promptly.
  • Perform SAP-related transactions, including printing and labeling SAP tags accurately.
  • Conduct physical inventory counts and complete related inventory requests as assigned.
  • Cover and support production lines by delivering materials, removing finished goods, and maintaining material flow.
  • Use RF scan guns to accurately track, pick, receive, and ship materials and orders.
  • Perform shipping and receiving activities, including unloading inbound materials and loading outbound shipments.
  • Execute order picking tasks using appropriate equipment and methods to meet production and customer requirements.
  • Maintain single-task focus and constant situational awareness to ensure safe and efficient operation of equipment.
  • Perform other related duties as requested to support warehouse, logistics, and production operations.

Essential Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to safely operate reach trucks and other logistics equipment.
  • Ability to drive multiple powered industrial truck (PIT) types, including high lift, stand-up, sit-down, walkies, and walkie riders.
  • Proficiency using RF scan guns for material tracking, order picking, shipping, and receiving.
  • Basic proficiency in SAP for transactions, printing, and labeling SAP tags properly.
  • Ability to maneuver lifts in tight spaces and confined areas safely.
  • Capability to perform physical inventory requests and accurately record results.
  • Basic math skills to handle counts, measurements, and inventory-related calculations.
  • Basic language and reading skills to interpret schedules, orders, labels, and safety instructions.
  • Ability to cover production lines by supplying materials and handling finished goods.
  • Strong focus and situational awareness while operating equipment and performing tasks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with material handling in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
  • Experience performing shipping and receiving activities, including unloading and loading trucks.
  • Familiarity with order picking processes using stand-up and sit-down forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Ability to use pallet jacks and other manual material handling equipment as needed.
  • Comfort working in environments with varying temperatures, including extremely hot, cold, and wet conditions.
  • Ability to perform a wide range of physical tasks such as standing, walking, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and carrying up to 50 lbs.
  • Capability to perform repetitive motions and use both hands when required.
  • Strong attention to detail in labeling, tagging, and documenting materials and inventory.

Work Environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
