Accessioning Technician

Employment Type - Full-time

Location: Tinley Park, On-Site

Job Overview:

Supports the delivery of patient care by performing and providing excellent customer service, data entry services, and task related duties within the laboratory.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Requisitions and Specimen Receipt.
  • Handling and Assessment of Clinical Samples.
  • Properly identify samples and sites where tests are performed.
  • Accurate and timely accession the patient, testing and specimen information into laboratory information system (LIS), and initial troubleshooting of problems.
  • Accurate labeling of samples.
  • Prepare and aliquot send out specimens.
  • Provide customer service to clients, patients, and support within the lab.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Experience and Education:
  • Bachelors Degree Preferred.
  • Personal computer and data entry skills (Microsoft Word, Excel etc.)
  • Candidates with no experience will be considered.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Must be able to assimilate to a changing work environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Exceptional decision-making skills and good judgment.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Works well under pressure.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of personnel.
